The band had another very productive rehearsal on Monday night. After a few run-throughs of the I, Awake intro and wrestling with some of the more difficult parts, we were able to play through a couple of verses/choruses all the way to the guitar/keyboard solo, which is about 10 minutes into the song. After a little haggling, we even managed to get through the solos into the next solo part. It was nice to finally play this thing all the way through. Well, almost anyway.

At the end of the night Kevin and Chris discussed the possibility of finally recording the background vocals for Next Time Around. With all the time being spent on writing/arranging I, Awake, we’d kind of forgotten that those are still unfinished. The plan is to practice them a bit at next rehearsal and record them the following week. We’ll see how that goes…
