Rehearsals going well

Rehearsals going well

Rehearsal time this week was spent on really fine tuning the cover songs for the Nov. 30 show at the  Elephant’s Nest in Chatham. Everything’s sounding really good, and the  band is looking forward to performing the CD, along with the yet to be released (and finally finished) Minstrel in the Corner, along with Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.

For those who have been awaiting the CD review in Progression magazine, the band was in contact with the publisher earlier in the week, and apparently the release of the most recent issue has been held up, but should be out in the next week or 2.

Falling Edge

More recording…

More recording…

Steve spent some time recording more of the keyboard parts for Minstrel in the Corner this week. For anyone who remembers this song (which was debuted at the band’s June CD release party) it has a fairly long intro with very little percussion before things start getting heavy.  Steve’s keyboard work this week brings to a close all that can be recorded before the drums have to be tracked, as Chris recorded his guitar parts a month or so ago.  With the band still in rehearsals for the November 30 show, it’s unlikely that any drums will be recorded until some time in December.

On that note, Falling Edge will be performing live at the Elephant’s Nest in Chatham, ON on November 30. To help fill out the evening, we’ve added Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding by Elton John to the 3rd set, and are looking forward to performing this one in front of a live audience. Check out the Upcoming Shows tab for more details.
