Unfortunately, we have some bad news to report today. Bassist Jim Walsh has announced that he has decided to leave Falling Edge. Ultimately Jim’s reason for leaving is that he’s been having a difficult time getting into the music as of late, and, as most musicians will attest, when you hit that point, it’s time to move on. The split was amicable, and although the remaining band members are saddened by Jim’s leaving, we also completely understand his reasoning. We’ll all miss Jim both as a musician and a friend, and wish him joy and success in all of his future endeavors.
If you’re at all familiar with the history of Falling Edge, you may remember that we had a string of bad luck with bass players early in our career. This time, however, we’ve been much more fortunate and would like to announce that Matt Broadbent will be holding down the bottom end for the band. Matt already has a history with Falling Edge, as he played bass with us for a few months after Don McLellan (our original bass player) left in 2007. We’re glad to have him back and look forward to creating more great music with him.
