Final acoustic guitar parts for Gone and drums for next song recorded

Final acoustic guitar parts for Gone and drums for next song recorded

It was a busy day yesterday, as I spent most of the afternoon recording the final acoustic guitar parts to Gone, and Rob spent the evening recording drums for What Will You Do When You Find Me?, which is the next song we’ve chosen to record. We both got some great tones and recordings, and are looking forward to laying down the remaining tracks on the new song. We’ll be taking a short break to celebrate Christmas, but should be back to recording early in the new year.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

See you in 2018.

4 songs ready to go, drums on 5th to be recorded soon

4 songs ready to go, drums on 5th to be recorded soon

Sorry for the long delay since our last post, but things have been pretty busy around here. In the time between then and now, I managed to get nearly all of the bass, guitar, keyboard, and vocal parts recorded for Gone. There are still a few keyboard parts (which I should have done in the next few days) and some acoustic guitar left to lay down on that song, but it’s pretty much done.

After completing the recording for Gone, I began mixing down the 4 finished songs, and they are now nearly ready to be mastered. Naturally, I’ll wait until the remaining 3 songs are recorded and mixed as well before moving to that stage.

And speaking of the 3 remaining songs, we should be laying down drum tracks for the next song in a week or two.

Gord Downie R.I.P.

Gord Downie R.I.P.

It was with sorrow that we heard of Gord Downie’s death. Gord was without question one of the finest lyricists in music; a truly gifted and inspired artist, and a great songwriter. I personally was (and still am) a big fan of his enigmatic and sometimes cryptic writing which was left wide open to the interpretation of the listener. My prayers go out to him and his family. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
