Falling Edge

It’s been a pretty busy month since the last post. A few weeks ago I finished up all of the electric guitar parts to I Will Not Comply, 17, and Gone, followed by some keyboard parts for Gone, and I spent the past couple of days recording bass for the same songs. Things are well on their way now, as this brings us easily past the halfway point for recording material for the next album. Rob an I should be getting together in the next week or so to go over drum parts for the next song which will feature a classical guitar piece, which I’ve also spent a good deal of time working on in the past few weeks.

Rob and I spent Tuesday evening into the wee hours of Wednesday morning recording drum tracks for Gone, the next song on the new Falling Edge album. There’s some pretty complex timing in this one, so it took a little longer than usual, but the extra work paid off, and the new drum tracks sound great. We also had an abnormal number of technical snafus to fight through, which always keeps things interesting. Rob’s going to take a few days to enjoy what’s left of the summer before deciding which song to work on next while I prepare to record the guitar, bass, vocals and keyboard parts for Gone. I’m hoping to tackle those things in the next month. Enjoy the last precious few days of summer everyone.

Sorry about the lack of updates here lately, but there really hasn’t been too much to report, as Rob and I have been mainly practicing new material on our respective instruments. I got a chance to do some recording last weekend though, and I spent most of it holed up inside laying down guitar parts for I Will Not Comply and Seventeen, both of which will appear on the next Falling Edge album. Recording went well and the tracks sound great. We now have the bulk of 3 of the 7 songs from the next album recorded, and Rob and I should be getting together in the coming week to discuss and arrange some drum parts for the next song, Gone.
