Bass and final keyboards recorded for Arcane Knowledge; progress on next song

The COVID-19 lockdown has been making it ever more difficult to make any progress on recording the next Falling Edge album, so I’ve decided to start trying to complete some of the songs we already have partially recorded. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been writing and recording the bass and remaining keyboard tracks for Arcane Knowledge, and Rob and I got together on the weekend (keeping a safe distance of course) to discuss and arrange drum parts for Not Everyone’s Cup of Tea, which is the next song we’ll be recording. For anyone who’s interested in history, this is the 1st song I wrote for this album, and is largely based on a guitar part that I wrote years ago.

We hope to be able to record the drums for Not Everyone’s Cup of Tea in the next few weeks, but as I mentioned earlier, the lockdown is making things a bit of a struggle, so we’ll have to see how things go. On that note, Rob and I also discussed the option of not waiting to release the new material as a complete CD, but as individual singles so that we can get music out  more quickly.

We’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Would you rather we wait to complete a full CD, or release the music one song at a time (with no CD)? Please click the comment button underneath the post title and let us know what you think.
