Falling Edge

Rehearsal on Monday night this week was very productive. Since Steve forgot his music and had to run back home to get it, Chris, Jim and Kevin had a chance to go over the vocal harmonies for Next Time Around, which we hope to record in the coming weeks. We also got to run through the I, Awake intro several times to tighten it up and try new ideas. We then started into the next section, and got all the way to the end of it with little difficulty. It will still need some re-working and tightening up, but it was nice to set up and knock down an entire section of the song, especially since the first part took us several weeks to arrange.

As mentioned earlier, we’re looking forward to recording the vocal parts for Next Time Around in the next few weeks. We’ll be sure to let you know how that goes.

Falling Edge would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (we’ll be rehearsing again early next week and we’ll let you know how that goes).

The band spent most of its time at rehearsal last night tightening up the I, Awake intro. After the progress we made at last rehearsal, we were able to play through the entire intro multiple times to get a better feel for things and try out some different ideas. We also tossed around a few possibilities for the arrangement of the last few bars that were still up in the air from the last jam. We hope to be able to move into the next section of this song at the next rehearsal.
