Falling Edge

Falling Edge would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our fans and supporters.

Keep an eye out for our debut CD release in early January.

With all the recording done for the album, a great deal of time has been spent over the last few weeks mixing all the tracks, and the band is excited to announce that mixing is now complete, and the CD has now entered the mastering phase. This should be wrapped up very soon, and although the CD should be ready for manufacture in the next few days, a release date is not likely to be scheduled until after Christmas, probably in early January.

In the meantime, the band has been busy working on Minstrel in the Corner at rehearsal. As you may remember from previous entries, we’ve finished the bulk of the arrangement of this song (the fun, creative part), so we had to roll up our sleeves and work out things like perfecting timing, segues, and the like (the not so fun and somewhat tedious part). A lot of progress was made in this area at the last rehearsal, and we’ll be getting back into it again this week.

We’ll keep updating here as the album production progresses.

Aside from continued work on existing (and now recorded) songs, the band worked to get more of Minstrel in the Corner arranged at rehearsal last week. We got through the whole song without too much difficulty, paying more attention to details like drum arrangements and vocal hamronies  now that the general shape is pretty much hammered out. We anticipate adding another new song to the repertoire in the next few weeks as this one gets closer and closer to completion.

Meanwhile, mixing continues on the upcoming CD, and the band is hopeful that the completed mix will be sent off to be mastered in the next few weeks.
