Falling Edge

The band spent more rehearsal time last week working on Minstrel in the Corner. Everything is pretty much done on this song now; it’s just a question of working out the transitions, deciding how long each section will be, and tweaking the arrangement some. It’ll still be a while before all these things are firmly worked out, but it’s nice to know that the framework is pretty solidly in place.

With all the tracks for the album now recorded, mixing is well underway and is going very well. We hope to be sending the final mix off to be mastered in the next few weeks.

Falling Edge

The big news this week is that Chris  recorded the vocal tracks for I, Awake, which means all of the tracks for the album are now recorded. This leaves only the final mixing to be completed before the CD can be mastered and released. The band was originally hoping for a late 2012 release date, but at this point, early 2013 seems more likely. We’re in the final stretch now, in any case, so it won’t belong before the CD is ready to go.

More progress was made towards completing the album this week as Steve finished up the last of the remaining keyboard parts. This finishes all the instrumental parts in I, Awake, so Chris has no more excuses not to record the vocals. On that note, Chris is hoping to get the vocals tracked sometime in the next couple of weeks.
