Minstrel in the Corner recording started
Chris spent most of yesterday recording guitar parts for Minstrel in the Corner, which will appear on the next Falling Edge release. Most of the recording went well, but things got bogged down when Chris’ 1980’s era Carvin X100B head started acting up. Although his main amp is now a Carvin V3 Micro, he prefers the X100B for clean tones. Near the end of the session, the volume started dipping (sometimes drastically) causing him to have to re-do several takes, but in the end he got some great tones and finished all the clean guitar parts in the song. Although he’s yet to record his heavy tones with the V3M (all of the guitar tracks on the debut Falling Edge CD were recorded using the X100B), Chris reports looking forward to unleashing it in the studio. Steve’s up next, and hopefully we’ll get some keyboard tracks laid down in the next week or so.
